Company Description

In the last decade we have seen the consequences of a growing disconnect between social media and real life - the declining mental health in young adults. According to the Center for Human Technology, a think tank in California, we spent ¼ of our lives in virtual social systems! Loneliness, social media addiction and the declining mental health in young adults, has formed the main focus for our team, to improve the quality of life for 18 – 40 years old young adults. From our research we know that 8 out of 10 social media users prefer to meet in real life rather than interacting online through social media. The social media industry’s current business model is therefore due for a significant disruption - we are that disruption. LifeBonder is filling this growing need for real life experiences outside social media platforms - battling the negative impact of social media and thereby increasing the quality of life for young adults. We have just launched our MVP a web app in the Scandinavian countries. Development of our mobile app are ongoing. Our solution works like this: you sign up and on first sign in you are immediately matched with like-minded friends. What differentiate us from other current social media platforms is our focus on supporting our users in their real life. We suggest shared activities in the local area through our community, activity and location suggestions. Loneliness and mental health issues gives rise to healthcare costs - in Denmark alone, 20% of working age people suffer from mental illness resulting in 25% of all healthcare costs. Among other things: • Our platform supports people offline in the local area instead of keeping them online • We protect users’ privacy - We do not sell user data nor track user behavior at all • LifeBonder has no additive elements – likes, followers, etc. The competitive landscape is present, Bumble being a direct competitor, but also platforms like Yubo, Friender, Skout and Friended . However, that so many young people report lacking close real-life friendships and feel lonely despite existing social platforms, clearly demonstrates failure to meet the market need. The business model of current social media growth engines is designed around consumerism and addiction as a profit-maximizing mechanism. The mission of LifeBonder is to break social media addiction and loneliness by providing a network that lives up to the promise of what social media can be: A tool to facilitate human connections rather than replacing them. Furthermore, concerned by the noticeably declining mental health in young adults, LifeBonder avoids implicating any social media features contributing to the rising issue - battling the negative impact of Social Media to increase the quality of life. LifeBonder leads a social media revolution by bringing user needs into the core business - and keeping advertiser needs at the periphery. Developed around mutual interests and topics in the same geolocation, LifeBonder makes it easy for people to connect through shared spaces, values, and goals.
